A few years ago, LG announced the LG StanbyME,a portable smart TV with a built-in battery and a wheeled stand that lets you move it around. Last year, it followed it with a successor - the LG StanbyMe 2; and now it is bringing that wheeled design to a new monitor called the LG Smart Monitor Swing.
The LG Smart Monitor Swing doesn't have a built-in battery like the StanbyME TVs which means you are still somewhat limited by the length of the power cable. However the wheeled stand that connects with One Click allows for a degree of mobility you won't get from a desk setup. The stand has an adjustable height and an arm that can tilt up and down, as well as swivel left and right. It can also pivot, allowing owners to switch the monitor from landscape to portrait and vice versa.
The monitor itself has a 31.5'' 4K UHD IPS touch display and a plethora of ports on the back that includes three USB-C ports and two HDMI ports while the stand has a hidden adapter for the monitor for cable management. The monitor also supports Power Delivery via a USB-C port (65W).
Since this is a smart monitor, it comes with webOS like the LG Smart Monitor (available on Amazon for $196.99), so there are a bunch of apps for work and play without the need to connect a computer to get anything done. It also has integrated speakers, so you can watch TV shows and movies without connecting an external speaker or earphones.
LG is targeting people from different professions with the Smart Monitor Swing. A couple of product videos recently uploaded on its YouTube channel show the monitor in use by a working mom, a retail manager, and a content creator.
LG hasn't revealed how much the LG Smart Monitor Swing will cost and when it will be available to buy, but one of the product videos says it is coming soon.
